Only Shooting Black and White Film
My family and I took a vacation down to Cherry Grove, SC. Of course I wanted to spend the week taking photos but I wanted to have a little bit of a challenge as well. In a vibrant beach town with tons of satuated colors, I knew a challenge that would test me as a photographer. Photography in only black and white for the full 7 days. There was a little reget at first for not bringing along any color film but soon after, I found my way.
This challenge definitely helped me grow as a photographer. If you are looking to grow as a photographer, you should absolutely try this out!

Some advice you see just isn't realistic to new photographers, so here is some actual realistic advice you can use in your photography. Starting your journey in film photography can be daunting, but I'm trying to make it as easy to approach as possible. Thumbnail - www.pexels.com/photo/analogue-aperture-blur-business-416682/

Growing a UA-cam channel is difficult and a lot of people will tell you to follow trends in order to grow your channel. Eventually, you’ll get tired of trend-chasing and just want to do your own thing. That’s where I am right now, kind of tired of trend-chasing. I love making UA-cam videos, don’t get me wrong, but I want to grow this channel the way I want to. Credits: Photo by Erik Mclean: www...

Maschine Mikro Mk3 REVIEW! | IS IT WORTH IT?
Can i only use the undo/redo/start/stop etc using the maschine plugin?
Epic soundtrack to a touching moment. Bless your heart
Dude, thanks for this tutorial. I can't thank you enough. I 9 minutes you made me learn what I didn't learn by myself in basically 2 days. Seriously. This Maschine software is insanely complex. I hate they tried to create a freaking DAW rather than just relying on what everybody uses. thanks!
IT WAS UNDER AU INSTRUMENTS THE WHOLE TIME! I was getting CRAZY trying to find that shit !
Oh my god. Y'all, dehydration is a thing. Drink water. Eat breakfast (No milk. My sister learned the hard way). And whatever you do, DO NOT LOCK YOUR KNEES!!!! Especially those drum majors. Those stands have you so high that if you fall you have a high risk of getting a concussion or something.
I don’t agree
If this was a competition and I was a judge and saw this, I would have motioned for disqualification of the entire band. That person was down for a long time, and they could’ve died on the field. This band chose to put the show before the team and there’s no excuse for that. A marching band is a team and there is an obligation to ensure that your teammates are performing well. That means if someone is down, you drop what you are doing, help and get help! Shame on the band, Directors, shame on the drum majors, shame on every single person that carried on, while that person was down. And I would’ve made sure that you received recognition for what you did! You deserve a medal for what you did!
Thanks guy to does the voice for Kenneth from 30 Rock. Good review.
To all of the people that think marching band performances are easy, I DARE you to go to marching band camp.
Im in Marching band and we are specifically taught to continue marching if someone falls good you helped him though
Band sounded sick tho! 🤘
You’re such a good kid. My kid marches for a very prestigious college band so I really appreciate seeing stuff like this. I’m wondering if it was the heat that made that boy pass out. I’m in the Deep South and there’s always kids passing out from the heat during the summer practices.
If you don't mind me asking, why did he faint? Heat, medical problem?
When marching its quite easy to faint, this is made 10x worse when you're blowing on an instrument.
The music fits so well for the hero in this vid. thank you for saving him
Passing out from walking JAJAJAJAJA
ikr
Everyone talking about the guy saving the other guy I’m wondering how the actuall fvck they are marching with trombones
That’s so weird that the band directors didn’t go do anything, since my band directors had said that if anyone passed out they would run on the field and get them themselves and for the marchers to keep marching
I agree. I'm just a learning hobby photographer, but even I set the bar higher than some street photographers on UA-cam and Instagram etc. The difference between them and greats like Bresson and Doisneau (and even ones who are less 'photojournalist') seems to be that those greats remembered to actually have a character or story in the pictures. The greats pay a lot of attention to their Goldilocks zone, where they avoid too much confusion in a picture but still ensure an actual story or placement worth contemplating. To me, vast numbers of photographers seem to be hiding far back behind the technology and basic principles (rule of thirds, frame within a frame, leading lines etc). They prefer low focal lengths to make shots seem se*ily distorted - photos that would surely look dull at 50mm. Some convert everything to B+W and add extra clarity because the pictures would look too cr*p in colour. Some rely massively on Wes Anderson-ish film simulations and almost every photo is someone walking past a pretty building and its large geometric shadows (often holding an umbrella). The fact that some such pics can get hundreds of 'likes' on Instagram etc is testament to the glossy superficiality that people like to scroll to. I think that, as soon as a photographer uses that audience as their guide, they shift slightly from artist to factory line. And then budding new(ish) photographers like me risk making the mistake of thinking that's what great street photos should look like. I'm not saying I'm great. I'm not (yet! XD). But I can tell 'mass produced tat' when I see it.
Im in marching band, my band director always says its not about the mistake happening. Its about how you take care of it and the speed of your recovery that counts.
W GUY WW WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
At one of my band rehearsals a girl fainted and hit her head on the concrete she seized for a few minutes it was so scary especially because i watch her sway and fall i have anxiety all the time cuz of it
Hope everyone doing good and staying safe. If you need to talk to someone or need help, there are people who care. I’m sending support and hearts. ❤❤❤
Should not of saved him 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😎
You can tell wearing that uniform on a very hot day
Can we get a full version of this show? It sounds AMAZING!
Not fainting but I had a similar experience. I'm currently a sophomore in high school, and I'm the only sophomore on our drumline, I play 4th bass drum as a 5'2 person. That bass drum goes from my stomach to about my eyebrows when it's attatched to my harness, it's huge compared to me. We are doing a Metallica themed show this year, and our pit is on the field right in front of a stage. To get their electrical working, we have to run like 10 different cables down the 50 yard line, but nobody has time to tape them down, so as people are marching over them they get kicked up. I marched backwards right over a spot where the cables were kicked up, and my foot got caught in it and I came crashing down mid competition. My drum was pinning me to the ground, and I couldn't get out of my harness because of my hat. I was being pinned to the field barely able to breathe for about two minutes until our third bass was finally at a spot where she could take off her drum and get me out of there. Laying there 100% conscious but unable to move while you are being marched around is absolutely horrifying. I had sprained my ankle because of the cable so she couldn't get me off the field all the way, so she just had me sit on the stage for the back half of the show, but I had multiple breakdowns and freakouts because I was so scared. Every time I march over those cables I get so scared that I'm gonna fall again. It's scary as hell.
I know this will make me look bad, but in all seriousness what the proper instruction is to do is march over or around the kid. He would not have been hurt by other marchers and after the show he would've got a ambulance called for him and treated by on site staff. It may sound bad but if you are in marching band you'd know that what he did is unnecessary and potentially changing the show for no reason as the kid already would've got help.
It sounds bad but in all seriousness this wouldn't be the procedure if it didn't save lives and gotten the kids medical help while still keeping the show the same.
You handled that very well 👏
Woah. A trumpet being a hero?! Also my poor baritone besty. He tried his best
Yeah I'm also baritone
They let him lay there for so long before he was helped 💀
Yeah definitely not procedure but it’s cool
I’m in a marching band, and when I was walking down a hill to go to the band room when it was over, I was so hot in my uniform( remember this was my first time wearing this thing for like an hour) I felt like I was going to pass out ( I got over heated) I was wearing a jacket, overalls, black we’ll almost every thing black lol black shoes black overalls and a black helmet ✋😖 I was sooooooo hot, it was a long walk to go to the place we start at from my school (middle school marching band) and this is my first time btw so I wasn’t used to it, plus, I looked like a Marshmellow lol because my pants were so baggy
Yo don’t lock your legs too much this happened at my high school too
Was that at a competition too?
He said that it was at a college exhibition
@@myersbob7517 ah ok
I would have done the same thing. Been in that Enka exhibition with POTM many times and that day performance never gets any cooler.. good on you!
Okay, a few quick questions about marching band, and a few comments on it, too: Why do people tell you to march over others who have fainted? Do they know how many people die on fields due to not only dehydration but also heat stroke and many others? Passing out is a serious way your body tells you something is wrong... I'm quite passionate about this... TLDR; If you see someone pass out on the field, get them inside, get them a snack and some water. Football players and band kids don't have much in common, but dehydration is something both groups die of oh so many times a year.
The reason they tell you to March over them is because going out of your way could cause more people to fall and get injured but I think most band directors would say he handled the situation very well
My sister is in marching band, and I never understood that, so thank you!! :)@@myersbob7517
This actually makes me wanna strap a camera to me during my shows
Me neither
This is why Marching Band is a sport. These band kids go throught so much just to put on an 8 ish minute show. Its hard work somedays.
We once had a competition day where is was 100+ degrees in the air (so guess how hot that turf was) and they had to cancel the competition half way through the day. 30+ kids sent to the er and many many more taken care of by paramedics in the school. What an awful day. Imagine using all your breath and all your energy in that, along with wearing thick uniforms and a sweat bucket shako. Marching band doesn't get enough credit for how much we have to endure. I graduated two years and a half ago and I miss it a ton, but man I don't miss it.
Despite the "march no matter what" maxim that we often get, you did the right thing Also, the timing was great- the band made the big hit right as you got the man to the tent- very nice Also the band sounds and looks good just from this clip- great job to you all
hi, marcher w pots here !!! my condition causes fainting and feeling like you're about to faint often, so fainting on field has been one of my biggest fears 💀💀 so far into the season i haven't fainted in field yet, but i've gotten way too close for comfort. we've adjust my drill so that im closer to the sidelines so i can run off should anything happen, but there are moments where i'm in the middle of the field. in moments like those, im always scared of the possibility of me getting knocked tf out and nobody being able to help me until the shows over. i hope there's someone in my band like you lol
I was wondering why this band was so familiar and I realized that's because it was my band! Glad to see that the person who fainted was helped up it's scary being on the field sometimes.
as a 1st year marching euphonium player, understandable.
Honestly, good on you. If I were an audience member, if I saw the entire band ignoring a fellow member who FAINTED, that would automatically lower my view of them. Meanwhile, if I see at least one person helping them, my view will remain intact.
He probably felt so ashamed and disappointed he fainted after that, I would've been sobbing knowing my band directors would probably give me a small lecture but I would still be upset.
As drum major who sits back field I’d be yelling at people to move or for somebody to grab them
It’s giving Texas
I would of done the same. Forget that show we are not robots we are human and should help each other. Don’t just leave someone on the field something even worse could happen to them.
I am a trumpet section leader at a high school, and I applaud you for your sacrifice to help your fellow member, even if it was from a completely different section. Bravo man
